Two minutes into the universe, nuclear synthesis started. Same as in the center of stars, hydrogen, helium, and light elements are created. Most of the atoms in our body are composed of hydrogen. It’s the most common element in living beings. If that means that most of them were formed in that first two minutes, then we are mostly made of big bang debris.
Part of me was there, coalesced in part from that primordial soup. Parts of us were around since the initial universe and will be for the rest of it. Not figuratively! Hydrogen atoms are made of one proton and, to the current understanding, protons, which are made of quarks, last forever.
